Why I Kept Procrastinating—and the Belief Shift That Changed How I Build My Business
The Ways I Avoid My Own Potential
You know… bingeing a Kdrama series for three days straight and turning into a couch vegetable?
Or booking a random last-minute trip?
Or buying another course I swear I’m going to start “next week”?
Yeah. That’s me.
Those are the ways I procrastinate. That’s how I self-sabotage when I know I need to be doing the things that help me grow my business.
When Starting a Business Triggered Everything I Hid
I’ve been fighting doubt, fear, indecision, and procrastination since the beginning.
I mean… I think everyone goes through it.
But mine went crazy when I started Harper and Hyra.
Every old insecurity and buried belief resurfaced, and I didn’t even realize it was happening.
The Loop of Learning Without Action
I felt stuck.
Stuck in this loop of learning and never taking action.
The Shift That Finally Helped
And yet… I didn’t quit. I kept going.
But the usual tricks—planners, productivity hacks, waking up at 5 AM—didn’t work.
What actually helped me face procrastination was something deeper: changing what I believe.
It took time—books, coaches, journaling, crying on random Tuesdays.
And honestly, every day is still a battle in my head.
The Moment I Decided to Believe Anyway
But I made a decision: I don’t know when. I don’t know how. But I’m building this business. Period.
I decided:
It’s possible.
I can do it.
I don’t need to know every step right now.
Now I Move Even When It’s Messy
After that, I started taking action more naturally—not forcing myself.
Because forcing never works. It just drains you.
Now, I’m taking messy steps. Like this.
Talking through it while I’m still figuring it out.
I’m still all over the place. But I have the vision. And the more I move, the clearer it gets.
That decision—that belief—is what got me off the couch and out of the endless autoplay loop.
Every day is still a fight. Some days are great. Some days are heavy. But I’m not wavering anymore. I’m aligning.
Bliss & Sparkle is where I write the things I’m learning.
Harper & Hyra is where I create the things I wear to remember them.
If you want to step into that universe with me, you’re always welcome.
